Freshways signs new 3-year, €45m Tesco Meal Deal partnership
Freshways has agreed a new three-year supply deal with Tesco Ireland worth €45 million, extending a partnership between the two companies that now stretches back more than two decades. Under the agreement — worth €15 million a year — Freshways will keep supplying the sandwiches, wraps, salads and pasta dishes behind Ireland’s leading Meal Deal, with more than 70,000 sold every week across 40-plus Freshways product lines, including the Crust & Co range. The deal follows an €8 million investment at Freshways’ Finglas facility — new high-care manufacturing space, extra storage and upgraded refrigeration — and has already created 20 new jobs. Freshways Managing Director Seán Cleary said the agreement gives the business “a strong platform for future growth,” crediting the wider Freshways team, and said Freshways is looking forward to developing new products for Tesco customers. Tesco Ireland’s John Brennan, Fresh Category Director, called Freshways “a trusted and valued supplier” that has helped build “the strongest Meal Deal offerings in the market.” Read the full coverage on Business Plus, and see the original announcement from Tesco Ireland on LinkedIn — or follow Freshways on LinkedIn to see it there.
